Theory: Naruto's Kekkei Genkai... Water his second element.

OMG I had this idea for a long time... I didn't really know how to prove it or bring it out... but I did my best tiring to back my theory up... hope you enjoy the read!!


We have always seen water when Naruto is in his inner self... It surrounds the cage in which the Kyuubi is kept... the Seal...

We see water here for the first time in Naruto when he first meets the Kyuubi...

NarutoBase.net - Naruto Manga Chapter 095 - Page 13 In this one he has no idea where he is... but his feet is underwater... the water surrounds the cage of the seal...

The water ripples...

The time he loss control and went 4tails... First the water is feet level... NarutoBase.net - Naruto Manga Chapter 293 - Page 2 but once the Kyuubi chakra become overwhelming the water level started rising... to protect Naruto from the Kyuubi's chakra NarutoBase.net - Naruto Manga Chapter 293 - Page 3 we can see the water tiring to protect him (if not drowning him but he cant drown in his inner self) but he is underwater... NarutoBase.net - Naruto Manga Chapter 293 - Page 4 swimming into the Demons cage... in hopes of saving Sasuke... if he stayed in the water he would have been saved... NarutoBase.net - Naruto Manga Chapter 293 - Page 5 into the Kyuubi's hands then Naruto lost himself... it was like he gave up...and didn't have the will to resist the Kyuubi.

And when the 4th appeared inside Naruto NarutoBase.net - Naruto Manga Chapter 440 - Page 3 ....


Now my theory is that the water helps protect Naruto from the Kyuubi... and the water has been there as part of his Kekkei Genkai (Uchiha have fire/ Uzumaki have water) hidden from Naruto... Hidden because its helping the seal or working with the seal to control the Kyuubi's Chakra... maybe its the water which filters the Kyuubi chakra so Naruto can sort of use it...

The seal does most the work but the water protects Naruto...

The affinity for water is most likely pasted down through the Uzumaki genes in a similiar manner to the fire elemental affinity of the Uchiha clan. Kushina would have known of the Uzumaki's clan kekkei genkai & she would have been able to tell Minato that their child would have had the possiblity of containing the Kyuubi.

u did a good job explainin ur thoery and the reason why u created it

my thinking is that Minato and kushina knew that one day the kyuubi would attack
and wanted to make sure that when they were gone that SOMEBODY would be there to
protect the village......and we already know that Minato installed the Fox inside of
Naruto becuz he knew that SOMEBODY would have to have a great ability in order
to defeat Madara

Further More.........I also think that he will gain the water affinity but also i think that
kushina was the water inside of Naruto......I say that becuz a mother's main instinct is
to protect her childern and to add along with Minato's seal she wanted to add just a lil bit more protection.....i also believe that she is still alive and we have recently seen her
in the Manga and i think that along with given her son confindence in gaining control over
the kyuubi she will also deliver her where abouts in order to begin his training for his new
ability

The water represents how much of the Kyuubi's chakra is flowing out. If you do remember, Naruto ALWAYS has Kyuubi chakra going through him...

Nice work pulling this together and making it understandable. It sounds very plausible, though I'm a bit confused as to how this relates to his Kekkai Genkai unless you mean he'll be able to mold water with wind?

hmmm.... i always thought Naruto would have water element. The reason is that when he fights Sasuke, he needs an advantage. Sasuke has lightening, fire, and all of his MS moves. Naruto might be able to counter some lightening attacks with wind, but the fire and MS were sorta up in the air. Naruto would need the advantage of having water to counter the fire. However, that was before he could use sage mode AND controlling the kyuubi. I think Naruto now has such a big advantage that he might not be getting a second element. I think since he completely mastered wind, sage mode, and in the future, kyuubi mode, he's a completely even match for sasuke... that is until we find out what sasuke's EMS abilities are. I think Kishi is trying to make them even. This is why:

Sasuke has Kirin=Naruto has rasenshurikan
Sasuke has MS abilities=Naruto has sage mode
Naruto has Kyuubi mode????=Sasuke's EMS????

i think they are even now, and if one gains a new ability, so will the other. I think after we see naruto master kyuubi mode, we will go to see Sasuke master EMS. Then, we'll probably go to the whole kabuto situation/kisame and KB situation. That's why I doubt we'll be seeing water style soon, if at all, from Naruto. But if we do see a new kekkei genkai, I think it'll be water. This would counter any new fire style sasuke might get, and the 1st, 2nd, Yamato, and Kisame are the only real water users we know of... and the 1st and Yamato aren't masters-they can just use wood. So more than likely it'll be water or earth (the 4th had earth, i think...), because almost no one in the anime have these elements. We've seen lots of fire, a few winds, and a good amount of lightening... we've only seen 1 living water master, and absolutely 0 earth users...

I dont think he has the Kyuubi chakra running through him all the time, its apart of his overall make up, but it was something he had to learn to use... other wise the summoning the King Toad training would have been pointless...

I agree... Sasuke will now be like in God mode with his EMS... If his powers are now unlimited... it would be good to see Naruto being able to use water jutsu against Sasuke's fire.

because then Naruto would have 2 element Affinity which would mean one has to be a Kekkei Genkai... plus it might be like Kushina has some kind of bloodline limit... which might involve water.

Naruto may have inherited form Hi's mother the ability to subdue Tail Beast, He is now in the process of learning how to use it on the Fox, if so then He can control the rest of the tail beast in the Madara statue thus negating Madara 's power.

We will see next week if in fighting the fox Naruto comes up with a new jutsu base on His Mother's abilities. And the surprise Bee and Yamato will get when Naruto explains everything to them.
