Ok, first, what is earth?

What does it do?

What is it to the world?

What is it to a ninja?

Well earth is mixture of dirt and other things in the ground. It is pretty much the foundation for life, to a ninja its an tool to fight.

First one is too scietific, basically, you said the same thing as someone who would say "It's a mixture of minerals." Try again, an easier question, what sets it apart from the other elements? Every element has properties that make it unique, what properties make earth unique?

Ok, and last: in what instances do ninja normally use earth jutsu? Like, for direct attacks, indirect attacks, defense, etc.
