Obito's revenge on the mist village...

Now that we see Obito's love interest Rin was killed during a battle between Leaf and Mist ninja it's becoming likely that Obito has a grudge against the Mist village.

Conversations between Kisame and Tobi revealed that Tobi directly manipulated the 4th mizukage Yagura:no_ignore:; prior conversations between Team 7 at the beginning of the series revealed the barbaric practice in the Mist Village which forced Ninja Academy graduates to fight to the death in order to graduate.

Is it possible that Tobi simply took over the mist vilage and turned it into the 'bloody mist village' as an act of revenge for Rin's death? In terms of plot development Obito/Tobi controlling the mizukage hasn't been significant to the story- will it be explained away as a petty act of vengeance? Ninja academy students being forced to die seems to coincide with Obito's teammates experiencing death at a young age.

Feel free to share your thoughts. :faust:

Really don't think it was because of that alone. May be from other reasons, like having control of 1 of the 5 most powerful villages in the world not having anything to do with it.

That would be quite a cool explanation, actually. I've been waiting to find out about the connection between Tobi and the Mist ever since it was mentioned. Was really disappointed when Yagura didnt reveal anything to Naruto when they met :/
Hopefully we will find out in one of the next chapters

Re: Obito's revenge on the mist village...

    To CurseSealOfEarth:

It's true that Obito had control of a major political power, but he didn't capitalize on this in any way. Obito didn't take over the mist village for political power, there was an ulterior motive- so far Obito's only known motives have been hatred and vengeance directed at the ninja world.

Obito/Tobi isn't a man of complex reasoning, he's uneducated, with an inferior mind and vocabulary to Zetsu. A.K.A. the type of simple character that's capable of despicable evil under the correct circumstances.
