Help computer will not cut on

My computer will not cut on at all. When I unplug the power cord the green light blinks. Do anyone know what I should do to make my computer cut on? Help plz

Dear Shikamaru, let me try to assist you with the issue.

First, we'll need to find the source of the problem. When you try to start your computer, do you hear any moving parts inside? (fans, hard drive, CD drive)

If not, have you checked if your power supply is on? There's a button on the back of the power supply that you can switch on and off.

if nthn is happening (no sound at all EX: Fans cd drive etc) that means that ur power supply is corrupted

From the hard drive? Please do not internally change anything physical in the computer!

How old is your computer? How much days a week do you have it on? How much hours does it run daily?

everyday 24/7, do u think it is the Cmos battery or i just kept the computer on to long and it needs time to rest. but what do u think i should do?

computers dont need rest at all
they were designed to work 24/7 non stop
as i said before if it isnt working at all ( when u switch it on) that means ur power supply is corrupted and u need 2 replace it

You don't, you'll need to ask a computer technical person to help you on that one.

If it's running 24/7 every day, then it's likely for your power supply to have thrown the towel in the ring.

umm...if you have any computer experience you can change the power supply yourself since its most likely plug and play...you'll just have to make sure you arn't voiding any warrenties by doing it yourself. and i suggest if you are going to do it by yourself to take pictures so that you know where everything plugs back in cause i had a hell of a time when i switched computer cases

Take this as constructive criticism, please. Take a look at the opening post:

It's pretty obvious that it's not recommendable to let this user do it on it's own. Various reasons are that he or she does not appear to know much about computers, that he or she does not know what the exact trouble is, and that he or she asked for help on this forum for the fact that he or she lacks the knowledge to perform their own diagnose and repair.

It's dangerous to suggest such things to users that are not capable. Don't overestimate anyone, because you'll be the one they will point their fingers at when it goes wrong.

and if you will please look at my first sentence i will have stated that if he has any computer experience...if not then get somebody else...and also notice that i said if its under warranty then have them do it. and i'd appreciate it if you don't underustimate people they will surprise you.

I'll get more into the details here, apparently I haven't been understood quite clearly. Humans easily tend to overestimate themselves, not many people have the experience that allows them to determine their own capabilities. Then there's the fact that people often find it harder to accept the fact that they lost something that is their property than accepting something that is obviously a complete lie. One's brain easily defiles yourself merely because it sometimes is easier to ignore something rather than accepting the truth.

I'm in my last year of my education that is all about computers and commercial market, and I can't even remember the amount of times I have been told to rely on the information you are most sure of, if not, rely on the information that could not develop the situation into an incident. In this case it was safer to think Shikamaru Teaguey is not capable of countering the problem himself because of the fact he posted a topic here which content clearly was a request for help on this issue.

Badly enough, it's a bad thing if people surprise you in the commercial world. I'm in my last year of my education that is all about computers and commercial market, and I can't even remember the amount of times I have been told to rely on the information you are most sure of, if not, rely on the information that could not develop the situation into an incident. In this case it was safer to think Shikamaru Teaguey is not capable of countering the problem himself because of the fact he posted a topic here which content clearly was a request for help on this issue.

I have decided that no matter what we are not going to see eye to eye on this....i agree that its best to seek help if you don't understand how to fix a situation or are unable to diagnosis a problem. however i don't agree with your condiscending attitude because I have fixed my own desktop multiple times and computers are not my area of schooling...

Not only do I find this a highly inappropriate diagnose on my character, it's also misplaced. Apparently you feel offended, verbally assaulted or anything else along those lines. I merely corrected your mistake, and in return I get typical teenage behavior. Putting that aside though, I have clearly stated I am being educated for both computers and the commercial business attached to it. You opened the subject on warranties yourself, I opened a similar subject which is more important to take into consideration, and that is that people are not equal when the topic is aimed at different areas of proficiency. For you it might sound obvious how to swap that PSU, but for the person in question it might not. Posting suggestive content that might give him displaced courage could end up in an angry NB member holding you responsible for a defective computer. How big that chance is? Small, yet big enough when looking at the costs and unnecessary trouble it would cause.
