gimp is easy for people who use photoshop as it is kind of an exact duplicate...just not with all the effects

the only thing i will say is, the text top left is difficult to read mybe move it or different colour

Quite good, follow some tutorials at GIMPTalk and you'll improve. Much better than my first GIMP XD.

Add a border, light source and maybe a couple of gradient maps and you'll have a near-perfect sig.

Or, to start off simply, just use a soft brush on a new layer. Add a C4D or two on screen (or something like that) and your done.
