oh and i know it was mentioned to put a really small amount of the thermal paste on, because though its job is to help distribute the heat, thermal paste is still very conductive(because it has pieces of silver in it) and can bridge a connection and ruin your motherboard, which can be a very costly fix. I have see that happen with a motherboard from a Xbox 360 where the person squeezed A LOT of thermal paste between the heat sink and the board and caused it to short out.
