This technique turns a large area of land into a sinking swampland, making it impossible for anyone or anything in that area to move around or escape. This technique was first used by Jiraiya when attempting to stop Orochimaru's two giant summoned snakes. Jiraiya, having been mildly poisoned at the time (and as a result, having a hard time manipulating chakra) was unable to fully founder the snakes in the large pond, but managed to stop the snakes' movement.
